Whether it's fishing, whipping that fly rod down stream, trolling the lakes by boat, or casting from shore, the Katahadin Region has it all with the East and West Branches of the Penobscot. River, the Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes, and other ponds lakes, and streams that dot the area, a variety of fish await the eager fisherman. The East Branch of the Penobscot River is well know is well know for its small-mouth bass, trout and salmon. The West Branch of the Penobscot River holds international fame for landlocked salmon, as well as boasting small mouth bass. Trout, pickerel and perch are also popular species in the region.
