Swan's Island is an island town in Hancock County, Maine, United States. It is named after Colonel James Swan of Fifeshire, Scotland who purchased this island and some surrounding areas and organized their colonization in the 18th century. The town is accessible by ferry from Bass Harbor.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 82.4 square miles (213.4 km2), of which, 13.9 square miles (36.1 km2) of it is land and 68.4 square miles (177.3 km2) of it (83.07%) is water.
