	The Caribou Police Department The Caribou Police Department implemented the COPS Hiring Recovery Program that had been awarded in 2009. Having the extra officer made it possible to send two officers to the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program (BLETP) in 2010. Officer Jay Trainer and Officer Chad Cochran graduated from the BLETP in December which is an 18-week training program at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy that all full time law enforcement officers are mandated by state statute to attend.
