A century-old Maine farmstead with massive stone walls and huge barn provided a unique background for his sophisticated collection of trees, woody shrubs, and perennials. Now over seventy years old, the landmark two acre garden is under the stewardship of a nonprofit organization formed to preserve the historic home, barn and garden for the public. |
|  | Rippling Waters Organic Farm In 2007, RWF was awarded a three-year grant from the USDA Community Food Projects Competitive Grants Program. These funds have enabled us to dramatically increase our community food impact, primarily by supporting the farm’s growing grassroots initiative – the Saco Valley Food Connection (SVFC) Project. This undertaking combines community food work with education to increase food security in the five towns composing Maine’s largest school district. |

In 1978, the club reorganized as a cooperative nonprofit corporation in the State of Maine called Rising Tide, Inc. and began a storefront with 800 square feet of shop space up the hill from its original location. In 1999, Rising Tide moved to a 4,500 square foot space in the Coastal Marketplace on Business Route 1. Since the 1999 relocation, membership has grown from 475 members to more than 1,900 in 2008. |
