	Sustainable agriculture program The academic program emphasizes: how to increase farm profits by decreasing the costs of crop and livestock production; how to build soil tilth and fertility through rotations, multiple cropping, and nutrient cycling; how to protect water quality by decreasing the need to use synthetic agrichemicals; how to manage crop pests and livestock diseases with integrated, ecologically sound strategies

	The Augusta Food Bank The Augusta Food Bank was established in 1981 to provide a supplemental source of food to individuals and families in need. We now serve an average of 335 households each month. Residents of Augusta or Manchester may apply for an order of groceries once every 28-30 days. Our Food Bank, a Partner Agency of United Way of Kennebec Valley, is managed by a Board of Directors made up entirely of volunteers and representatives from the community and participating congregations.

	The Maine Department of Agriculture The Maine Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources is the Stateâ€™s lead agency dealing with all aspects of the food system from the field to the table. The Department maintains a mission of fostering opportunities for the agriculture community and of promoting stewardship of Maineâ€™s natural resources.Maine farmers are the stewards of 1.25 million acres. The land provides the public benefits of open space and recreation.

	The Maine Nutrition Network The Maine Nutrition Network is a model collaborative of public and private partners that coordinates, administers, and evaluates nutrition and physical activity initiatives and contributes to policies and environments that improve the health of Maine people. The Network's primary funding source is the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

	The Morris Farm The Morris Farm Trust is both a working farm and an educational resource for the communities of mid coast Maine. Our 50 acres of pasture and farmland support a Univeristy of Maine Extension Master Gardener Demonstration Garden, the Morris Farm Wiscasset Primary School Garden, Wiscasset Community Gardens, resident farm: Aland-Dee Farm with poultry, holsteins cows, Clydesdale horses and Lacie the Nubian Goat and her kid, Lizzie. ects to the Wiscasset Town Trails.
