	Elliot Thayer In 1982, Elliot Thayer received his professional engineerâ€™s license and started Thayer Engineering Company out of the basement of his home. He was the sole employee. Over the next two years, he brought in two partners, Andy Dunbar and Bob Clunie, along with a few other employees. In 1984 he bought the building that Thayer Engineering Company now calls home. Today, there are nine employees at this small but very busy Farmingdale engineering firm.
