	Heart of Maine The Heart of Maine Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area was legally authorized in February 1992, as part of the USDA Food and Agriculture Act of 1962. Heart of Maine RC&D sought to find a vision that would reflect its ideals and goals. Heart of Maine RC&D Area Council sought to develop a mission statement that would speak clearly to the needs of the communities in the tri-county area in terms of jobs, the local economy, and conservation.

	Maine Farm Bureau Maine Farm Bureau is a non-governmental, non-profit voluntary organization that lobbies for issues important to agriculture, landowners and the rural way of life. Maine Farm Bureau is unmatched in representing and providing programs and services that keep farm families producing, while also protecting the property rights of any landowner in the state of Maine. Maine Farm Bureau works hard to ensure our stateâ€™s farms are thriving and safe.

	Maine Farmland Trust Maine Farmland Trust (MFT) was created in 1999 to help preserve farmland, both directly, and by assisting other organizations. Farmland preservation is critical to the future of farming in Maine. Though farming in Maine remains a major economic force (adding $2 billion each year to the stateâ€™s economy) and is well poised for the future, that future promise depends on the protection of the resource base.

	The Eat Maine Foods The Eat Local Foods Coalition (ELFC) is a state-wide coalition that seeks to put more Maine food on more Maine tables more often. Doing so will result in economic benefits, greater local food security and sovereignty, enhanced health and nutrition and vibrant local food culture.

	The Kennebec Estuary The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust is committed to conserving land and wildlife habitat of the Lower Kennebec and Sheepscot River estuaries. We are a community based membership organization serving the towns of Arrowsic, Bath, West Bath, Georgetown, Westport Island and Woolwich. Our Board of Directors is drawn from the communities we serve.
