	Department of Professional and Financial Regulation The Department of Professional and Financial Regulation is to protect the citizens of Maine through the regulation of State-chartered financial institutions, the insurance industry, grantors of consumer credit, the securities industry, and numerous professions and occupations providing services to the public.

	Department Of Public Safety The Department of Public Safety serves the people by protecting their lives, rights, and property. This is accomplished through criminal justice, law enforcement, fire safety, emergency response services, safety education and code enforcement.

	Dirigo Health Program The Maine Legislature created DHA in 2003 as an independent executive agency to arrange for the provision of comprehensive, affordable health care coverage to eligible small employers, including the self-employed, their employees and dependents, and individuals on a voluntary basis. The Legislature specified that DHA is also responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of health care in this State.

	Division of Infectious Disease The mission of the Division of Infectious Disease is to decrease morbidity and mortality through the prevention and control of infectious disease. The mission is part of a national health care reform initiative and is federally funded.
