	The Animal Welfare Society The Animal Welfare Society, located in West Kennebunk, Maine, is a private, non-profit humane society formed in the early 1960's by a group of caring individuals. The founders included the late Mrs. Elmina B. Sewall and the late Mr. Donald Shephard who served as the Society's first President of the Board of Directors. In 1967, the Society became incorporated and has now expanded to a shelter of over 13,000 square feet.

	The Ark Animal Sanctuary These kitties need new home due to allergies of grandson. They are all spayed/neutered, declawed and UTD with shots. Med records available. They are in-home surrenders and the owner will be responsible for adopting them.

	The Ark for Pets The Ark is a non profit organization dedicated to the care of homeless, unwanted or displaced animals. 	The Coastal Humane Society (CHS) The Coastal Humane Society (CHS) is a organization, animal shelter, and companion animal adoption agency founded in 1950 by Bowdoin College Professor of English, Stanley Chase. Beginning as a strictly volunteer-run shelter in an old barn not far from where the current shelter stands, we are now one of the largest animal shelters in Maine with a staff of 20 (including our own veterinarian, Dr. David Bourassa) and over a hundred active volunteers.
