In 2008, we were proud to become Maine's first carbon-neutral radio station and we believe it's important to continue that commitment to the environment. We have evaluated our total energy use including office and studio lights and heat, staff commutes, corporate travel and, of course, the power to transmit our signal.

	WERU FM 89.9 WERU is currently accepting applications for a few open seats on our Community Advisory Board. This body is charged with providing feedback to the station on programming and events to help us serve the public to the best of our ability. While the CAB has no decision-making authority of its own, its input is very helpful for the staff and volunteers of WERU.

	WEZR 1240 Radio We are the only station that has Maine and Lewiston-Auburn news. Listen for the worldâ€™s earliest morning show, the Eye Opener, weekdays, from 4 to 6 am. Local news continues during "Imus in the Morning." Plus, you'll hear world and national news at the top of every hour 24 hours a day.

	WGAN "The Federal Communications Comission granted the application of the Portland Broadcasting System, Inc. for a radio station in May, 1936. Months of delay followed, owing to legal entanglements. The firm was granted use of the 640 kilocycle frequency....It is being acclaimed by all Maine, by telegram, telephone, and mail, as functioning perfectly, from the listeners' viewpoint, and as a definite progressive influence in the state."

	WHSN 89.3 FM WHSN is the training ground for students interested in a career in radio broadcasting at the New England School of Communications. In it's 30+ years on the air countless radio professionals have begun their careers on WHSN. Student staff have gone on to work at radio stations all over Maine and throughout the world.
