The farm has 250 acres of cropland and pasturage along the Nezinscot River, and is home to one of the oldest archaeological sites east of the Mississippi.

	Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village is an active community of Shakers and a working farm. To protect our home farm livestock of Scottish Highland cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats, no pets are allowed on the Shaker Village grounds. Also, keeping any pet but especially dogs in a vehicle is potentially extremely harmful to the pet and can be fatal - open windows do not help enough to stop harm to a pet. Pets can be frightening to some visitors.
