	Portland Ballet Portland Ballet was founded in 1980 as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization by Eugenia L. O'Brien, who serves as both Artistic and Executive Director. Portland Ballet's mission is to enrich the community through training, performance, education, and outreach in classical and contemporary ballet. We extend our thanks to the dancers, audience members, donors, corporations, and foundations that support the arts.

	Rising Sun Dance Studio Rising Sun Dance Studio was founded in 2006 by Jen Van Valkenburgh to provide students of all ages and abilities from the central Maine community with the opportunity to explore various styles of dance in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment. During its first year, 40 students met in 8 different classes, in a space borrowed from a kickboxing gym in downtown Winthrop. The first recital was held in June of 2007 in the beautiful, historic--but small--theater in Cumston Hall in Monmouth.

	The Dance Center Elizabeth Hansen started the Dance Center in 1992 offering classes in Ballet, Jazz and Creative movement. Over the years we have added Modern, Hip Hop, Tap and Ballroom. The school currently has an average enrollment of 225-250 students. The Dance Center stresses proper body alignment, technique, strengthening, stretching and healthy work habits while creating an atmosphere for all levels of dancers to enjoy the art of dance.

	The Maine Dance Academy The Maine Dance Academy, located in Caribou, Maine, first opened in August 1994 under the direction of Colleen E. DuPlissie. It has served the Northern Maine area for the past 17 years, teaching students from age 2 through adult, and students from as far as Fort Kent and Mars Hill. The Academy has 4 instructors and 6 assistant instructors. Students at TMDA are instructed in jazz, tap, lyrical ballet, hip-hop, highland, Celtic soft shoe, tap, and theatrical jazz.

	Thomas School of Dance Upcoming auditions: Friday, September 9 auditions for holiday show - 4:00 to 5:00 for ages 7 - 9 and 5:00 - 6:00 for ages 10 and older. Open to all Thomas School of Dance students. Bangor Ballet auditions open to all intermediate to advanced level ballet dancers from any area school. Sunday, September 18 at 6:00 for intermediate (levels 3 and 4) and Sunday, September 25 at 6:00 for advanced level dancers
