The Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine, alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton. The Library, which serves the communities and citizens of the Wilton, Dryden, East Wilton, and East Dixfield was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association.

Windham Public Library is proud to house over 42,000 volumes, over 3300 movies, 1500 audio recordings, 850 music recordings and subscriptions to over 80 periodicals and newspapers. The Windham Circulating Library at Windham Center became the main focus. In the late 1960′s. when it outgrew its small building, the current location was chosen for a new building.

The library has a collection of audio-books, videotapes, DVDs, music cassettes, CDs and CD-ROM programs which may be borrowed. The policy for borrowing these items is available at the circulation desk. Only four (4) videos, DVDs or CDs total per household may be checked out at one time. Videos and DVDs are nonrenewable.

The library is free for anyone to browse. You must have a library card if you wish to borrow library materials. Library patrons may borrow most materials from the library for 2 weeks, with a limit of one each of new fiction and new non-fiction.

witherle_lib.jpgWitherle Memorial Library
The Witherle Memorial Library land and building were the gifts of George and Mary Witherle, ships' chandlers in Castine, in 1906 and 1909. We provide free public internet access on four computers, wireless internet access for patrons with their own lap-tops, inter-library loan, delivery of books to shut-ins, collections of audio books, music on compact disc, video tapes and DVDs, an extensive local history collection and public photocopying.
