The Walker Memorial Library began as one of the earliest Social Libraries in Maine. It was originally established in 1802 as the Falmouth Social Library at Saccarappa Village. A new addition was proposed in 1984 and was budgeted through a $1.5 million bond in 1986. Ground breaking took place in February 1988 and the new addition was completed and opened to the public in February 1989.

The Warren Free Public Library is located on Main Street in Warren, Maine. We serve the town of Warren and are also a consortium member. In 1792 a division occurred; the eastern sixteen members created the “Friendly Society on St. George.” By 1799 the membership had grown to eighty-six patrons with an annual contribution of $43.

The Waterboro Public Library, founded and originally sponsored by the Massabesic Lioness Club, was first located in two rooms on the second floor of the Regional Medical Arts Building on Route 202 in Waterboro, Maine. The Lioness bought, found, sorted, cataloged, and arranged books, with the guidance of the Southern Maine Library District and with the dedication and work of many Lioness members.

In 1899, the Circle incorporated as the Ladies Library Association of Waterford, electing Sarah Knight as its first librarian. Three years later, Mrs. Florence Rounds was elected assistant librarian. Interest in the library grew and more room was needed for books.
