	New Portland Community Library New Portland's first public library opened in an old school house in the North Village. We have books (including large print, hardcover and paperbacks), magazines, audiobooks, movies, music, and more.

	Northeast Harbor Library The original Northeast Harbor Library and Reading Room opened in 1892 as a seasonal subscription library on South Shore Drive. This was a free library for the community and its collection was expanded each fall when books were brought from the summer library. We currently serve as three libraries using a single collection: A privately funded library for seasonal residents, a "free" library for the towns' inhabitants, and a school library for Mount Desert Elementary School.

	Norway Memorial Library The Norway Library was established in 1885. For many tears it was located above Longley's store, until the present building was completed in 1938. Sixty years later the collection contains 40,000 volumes, in a variety of formats which include books, magazines, audio CDs and video cassettes, CD Rom, and microfilm. Public access computers are available for connecting to the internet, the EBSCO on-line databases, and for word processing.
