 | A Company of Girls A Company of Girls mission is to strengthen and empower girls and their families, and foster community through the arts. A Company of Girls (ACOG) is an after school theatre and arts-based resiliency program for girls aged 8-18. The members of ACOG are from many diverse communities in the greater Portland Area. Transportation is provided for those girls who need it to get to and from the program. At ACOG, girls can come together after school and learn about theatre, the arts, and social skills. |
| | Acorn Productions Acorn Productions’ mission is to invigorate the community of performing artists in Southern Maine. Acorn seeks to nurture new performance pieces, develop artist collaboratives, train new talent, and make the arts accessible to a wide spectrum of the general public. Acorn accomplishes these goals by mounting annual festivals that are open to a variety of artists as well as professional performances by local actors in both traditional and non-traditional venues. |
| | Artascope Studios Art Night Out™ workshops are designed to nurture creativity and help you make art. We know that it can be hard to pull together all the materials and instruction to make an inspiring project. That’s why we’ve created Art Night Out™ workshops and parties. |
| | brucekaminski What I seek in my work is spirit, essence, the very life of life. The human figure is a landscape, and one is humbled by the subtleties and grandeur of that landscape. A slight change in line or tone can alter completely the aspect of a face or figure. Approach from a new angle or alter the light source and a wholly new image arises. Color and light breathe life into it. In my painting, I now have an opportunity to explore the beauty of color and the power of light. |
| | Dennis Rafferty I moved to Maine in 1998 to open Crosstrees Bed and Breakfast. My partner and I sold it in 2002. I am now painting full time and have recently opened Cygnet Gallery-Portland with my good friends Kim Swan and Brian Lazarus. I did my undergraduate work with Richard Slimon at Emporia State University, my graduate work with Bob Brawley and Mike Ott at Kansas University. I have studied with Steve Quiller in Creede, Colorado and Maine. |
