	Maine Historical Society Museum The MHS Museum features changing exhibitions and programs spanning more than five centuries of Maine life. Drawing from the extensive collections of the Maine Historical Society, original exhibits feature art, artifacts, and documents that vividly bring Maine history to life.

	Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company & Museum collects, preserves, displays, interprets, and operates historic railroad equipment from Maineâ€™s two-foot-gauge railways for the education and enjoyment of the public. From the 1870s until the 1940s, some 200 miles of narrow gauge lines served the stateâ€™s smaller communities. Today, our Museum visitors relive railroading as it once was and come to understand the railroadsâ€™ importance to Maineâ€™s economic development.

	Maine State Museum Maine was one of the first states to initiate the concept of a state museum, but it took over 120 years to demonstrate that consistent support and proper facilities are vital for success. In 1836 the Maine State Legislature voted funds for a "cabinet or museum of mineral specimensâ€¦at the State House in Augusta." Boston geologist Dr. Charles T. Jackson, who conducted the first Geological Survey of Maine, selected specimens of his discoveries for display in 1837.

	Museum L-A Museum L-A is a private 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 1996, by local attorney Elliott Epstein at the close of the City of Lewistonâ€™s Bicentennial celebration, in order to fulfill the Bicentennialâ€™s goal of creating a permanent memorial to local history. Primarily run and driven by volunteers during the first decade, early work consisted largely of salvaging and preserving industrial artifacts from closing businesses.

	Ogunquit Museum of American Art The Ogunquit Museum of American Art engages and educates a diverse audience by collecting, exhibiting, preserving, and interpreting American art from the nineteenth century to the present.
