The Maine Idyll has 20 cottages interspersed among a pretty grove of trees. The cottages accommodate two to six guests each. All have modern bathrooms with shower stalls or bathtubs, gas or electric heat, color TV, porches and very comfortable beds. Many units have fireplaces (free firewood provided) and mini kitchens. Some cottages are handicap accessible. Other amenities include two children's play sets, picnic tables, and walking trails. A free light breakfast is available each morning from 7:30 to 10:30. Well-behaved pets are welcomed at the Maine Idyll. Dogs must be kept on leash.We are located about 2 miles north of Freeport on a relatively undeveloped stretch of U.S. Route 1. It's an easy drive to and from the village. Freeport is a unique and special place in Maine and so is the Maine Idyll.
