We gather for public worship every Sunday at 10 AM and throughout the week for a variety of meetings and programs. Our mission is to nurture the spirit, to grow in community and to help heal the world. First Parish stands at both the historical and the contemporary center of Portland. Our central location, which we embrace proudly, calls us to spiritual witness and public service. We believe there are four essential ingredients necessary for spiritual growth: a commitment to serve and advocate for others, a willingness to accept and give support to one another; an openness to learning and to exploring life’s mysteries and a disciplined spiritual practice of one’s own choosing.
