Pemaquid Point is situated at the tip of the longest (pema) finger (quid) on the Maine coast. Its high bluffs extend out into the Atlantic commanding a spectacular ocean view and a pounding surf that beats continuously. Because the land is unusually high and takes full advantage of the ocean breeze, humid weather is seldom known here, even when five to ten miles inland temperatures reach the 80's and 90's.
